The Helias Crusaders dropped a 2-1 decision in double overtime Wednesday night to Sedalia Sacred Heart at the 179 Soccer Park.

Helias led 1-0 at the half on a goal by Ian Luebbert, assisted by Dane Haugen.

The Crusaders, who end the regular season at 8-13-2, will open Class 3 District 9 play at 7 p.m. Monday in Union. Helias is the No. 2 seed and will face third-seeded Rolla at 7 p.m. No. 1 seed Camdenton will play host Union at 5 p.m. Monday.

The championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Helias won Wednesday's junior varsity game 3-1. John McDonald had two goals for the Crusaders, while Jacob Frank had the other one. Elijah Korenberg had two assists and Grant Mengwasser had one.

Helias ends the JV season at 6-7-2.
