In the early morning hours of Monday, Jefferson City police responded to a series of theft from motor vehicle calls throughout the city. Information was obtained through investigative leads about a possible vehicle and suspect and later during the day officers were able to locate that suspect vehicle. During the stop, a number of stolen items were recovered in the vehicle and confirmed to have been part of the earlier thefts.
The suspect in the case was identified as Shawnelle Yarborough, a 21 year old Jefferson City male. Yarborough was arrested by officers and taken into custody and subsequently interviewed by detectives. He is facing a number of misdemeanor theft charges and one felony theft charge.
