Four remain in prep football rankings

The positions remain the same for the four area schools in the state high school football rankings.

The Helias Crusaders, California Pintos, Blair Oaks Falcons and South Callaway Bulldogs all maintained their spots in their respective classes in the state rankings released this morning in voting by 15 media members from around the state.

Helias (8-1) is No. 2 in Class 4. California (9-0) is No. 2 in Class 3, while Blair Oaks (7-2) holds down the No. 8 spot in the class. South Callaway (9-0) is No. 3 in Class 2.

The No. 1 teams in all six classes remain the same as district action begins Friday - Hazelwood Central in Class 6, Fort Osage in Class 5, Webb City in Class 4, Maryville in Class 3, Lamar in Class 2 and Ste. Genevieve Valle in Class 1.

There will not be another edition of the rankings until after the state championship games.
