Lady Jays win at Borgia Invititational

WASHINGTON, Mo. - The Jefferson City Lady Jays captured team honors Saturday at the Borgia Invitational.

Jefferson City finished with 37 points to top the 12-team event.

Michaela Krause, Kaylee Payton and Andi Stackman finished sixth through eighth, respectively, to lead Jefferson City.

The Helias Lady Crusaders, missing some of their top runners, finished third with 101 points. Abby Hake led Helias with her 24th-place finish.

Ste. Genevieve, which did not field a full team, took the top three individual positions. Taylor Werner led the trio, winning in 18:53.

On the boys side, Jefferson City finished fourth with 101 points in the 22-team event. St. Louis University High was first with 71, followed by Whitfield with 82 and Ste. Genevieve with 84.

Jackson Schultz paced the Jays by taking fifth.

Helias finished 10th with 283 points. Elliot Knerschield led Helias by taking 11th.

Ben Naeger of Ste. Genevieve took individual honors in 16:14.
