Police: Teens in lawmaker shootout robbed before

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Police say four youths whose attempted robbery of two Pennsylvania state legislators led to a shootout also robbed three other people near the state Capitol a day earlier.

Investigators said Wednesday that state Rep. Marty Flynn was justified in using his gun for defensive purposes after being accosted Tuesday night with Rep. Ryan Bizzarro.

Harrisburg police Chief Thomas Carter said the same four "thrill-seeking" juveniles arrested in Tuesday's incident committed a robbery the day before. The youths ages 15 to 17 are being prosecuted as adults.

Police one armed teen ordered Monday's victims to the ground as they left the Capitol. Investigators say valuables including computers, cellphones and wallets were taken.

Police made prompt arrests following Tuesday night's shootout, in which no one was injured.
