The Jefferson City Jays and Lady Jays captured large school team honors Saturday in the Helias Cross Country Invitational at Binder Park.

On the girls side, the Lady Jays beat five other teams with 40 points, Helias was second with 49.

Kaitlyn Shea of Helias took individual honors, while Kenzie Gourley of Jefferson City was second.

On the boys side, Jefferson City totaled 22 points to top seven other squads. Helias finished fourth with 123 points.

Jackson Schwartz led Jefferson City by taking second. Elliuot Knerschield paced Helias by finishing sixth.

In the small school division, Fatima swept boys and girls honors.

The Lady Comets finished with 28 points to take the team title. Fatima teammates Brianna Haller, Madison Day and Anna Massman finished 1-2-3 in the individual race.

Kasey Kerperin was fourth to lead Blair Oaks, which was second in the team standings.

The Comets totaled 32 points to take the boys title. Russellville was second and Blair Oaks took third.

Alex Thompson of Russellville won the individual race.
