Licking man charged in car wash burglaries

A man from Licking has been charged in connection with a burglary that occurred in September in Cole County.

Christopher Giller, 43, is also charged with first-degree property damage and stealing.

A Cole County Sheriff's Department probable cause statement shows the burglary occurred at Junction Car Wash in Eugene.

Earlier this month, the Lake Ozark Police Department contacted Cole County authorities after taking Giller into custody for burglarizing a car wash in their community. A search of Giller's vehicle found a large set of keys, many of which were used for machines at car washes. Some of the keys were found to fit change machines at the car wash in Eugene that was burglarized.

When questioned by authorities, Giller admitted to five separate car wash burglaries, including the business in Eugene.

The owner of the Eugene car wash estimated the damage done to his business was around $10,000.
