Your Opinion: Problems within the high school

Dear Editor:

As you may already know, I frequent the opinion section of your publication often. At the same time, I prefer focusing my views on state and national issues and I would rather take the high road on local issues.

But occasionally, there is a local issue that I will and do take interest in. So, I'm writing this in regards to the latest lawsuit filed against the Jefferson City School District by teachers.

I feel very strongly compelled and I feel a sense of obligation to ring in on this because I am a former employee of the district. Unlike the two female faculty staff members that currently are pursuing litigation, I of course am a male. I was not a teacher, I worked under support staff buildings and grounds.

Unless things have drastically changed for the better at that high school in the past nine years since I left there, I'd honestly have to say that I fully agree with these two women that there are some very serious problems within those walls with the manner in which the administrators treat certain staff members. I know first-hand because I worked at the high school.

That is all I'm going to say on this issue. Thank you.
