CARSON, Calif. (AP) - Landon Donovan broke the MLS career assists record with 136 and Robbie Keane scored two first-half goals in the Los Angeles Galaxy' 3-0 victory over Toronto FC on Saturday night.
The Galaxy (17-5-9) moved alone into the top spot in the MLS while extending their undefeated streak to 10 games. Toronto dropped to 11-12-7.
Donovan broke a tie with Steve Ralston for the record in the 25th minute on the Galaxy's second goal. He sent a ball forward to A.J. DeLaGarza, who crossed it back to Keane for his 19th goal of the season.
Donovan also holds the MLS record for goals with 144. Retiring at the end of the season, Donovan received a standing ovation as he was replaced by Alan Gordon in the 84th minute.
Keane opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, and Gordon added a third goal in the 93rd minute.
TIMBERS 2, EARTHQUAKES 1
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Rodney Wallace scored twice in 3 minutes in Portland's comeback victory over San Jose.
Liam Ridgewell sent a high-speed header deflecting unintentionally off Wallace's head and looping past a helpless Jon Busch in the 74th minute for the go-ahead goal.
Wallace tied it 71st minute with a left-footed blast into the upper-left corner of the net.
The Timbers (10-9-12) moved within one point of the Vancouver Whitecaps for the fifth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Chris Wondolowski opened the scoring in the 56th minute with his 14th goal of the season.
The loss eliminated the Earthquakes (6-13-11) from playoff contention and extended their winless streak to 11 games.
RED BULLS 1, DYNAMO 0
HARRISON, N.J. (AP) - Thierry Henry sent home a deflected shot in the 47th minute to help New York beat Houston.
New York (11-9-11) entered the game in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, holding onto the final playoff spot.
New York's Bradley Wright-Phillips was held scoreless for consecutive matches for the first time since April. He had a blocked shot fall to him at the top of the 6-yard box in the 23rd minute, but his left-footed attempt hit off the crossbar. His open header in the 56th minute sailed over the crossbar and his breakaway in the 60th minute was saved by Tyler Deric.
Houston (10-14-6) fell to 0-8-3 at Red Bull Arena.
New York's Tim Cahill received a straight red card in the 88th minute for a rough tackle of Oscar Garcia.
WHITECAPS 2, FC DALLAS 0
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Sebastian Fernandez scored goals 4 minutes apart in the first half to help Vancouver beat FC Dallas.
David Ousted had his 10th shutout of the season for Vancouver. The Whitecaps (10-8-3) are 3-2-1 in their last six games. Dallas dropped to 14-11-6.
Fernandez headed home a cross from Maura Rosales in the 14th minute to open the scoring. Rosales also set up the second goal, breaking through the middle and sending a ball to his left that fellow midfielder Pedro Morales let run for Fernandez to slot home.
REVOLUTION 2, CREW 1
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Jermaine Jones headed in a goal in the 67th minute, his second consecutive winner, to push New England past 10-man Columbus in rainy conditions.
New England (15-13-3) moved into second place in the Eastern Conference - four points back of D.C. United, a winner over Sporting KC on Friday night.
Lee Nguyen started the scoring in the 20th minute for New England. A deflected cross fell to Nguyen at the corner of the 6-yard box and he calmly slid it into the back of the net.
Columbus (11-10-10) evened it five minutes later when Ethan Finlay rolled a ball under goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth.
