Volleyball: Lady Jays JV takes second

WAYNESVILLE - the Jefferson City Lady Jays junior varsity team took second with a record of 4-1-1 Saturday at the Waynesville Junior Varsity Tournament.

Jefferson City defeated Licking 25-12, 25-10 in the opening match.

Arielle Guitard 17 service points and two aces, while Tatum Gaines finished with six kills and Amber Runkle tallied five kills.

From there, the Lady Jays went on to claim a 25-22, 25-10 win against Sullivan. Olivia Hart and Stephanie Fisher had four kills apiece, while Cameryn Campbell tallied eight digs.

Jefferson City earned its third straight victory, defeating St. James 25-10, 25-19. Hart had 11 service points and three aces, while Janice Steacy finished 10 service points and four aces.

The Lady Jays then split a 21-25, 25-19 decision with Waynesville. Runkle had four kills, Gaines had four blocks, and Campbell chipped in with nine digs.

Jefferson City bounce back with a 25-14, 25-21 win against Rolla. Steacy had 21 assists, Fisher finished with 11 kills and Bailey Diehl chipped in with three kills.

The Lady Jays finished the tournament with a 25-20, 27-25 loss to Camdenon. Guitard had seven service points, Runkle tallied three blocks and Campbell chipped in with 11 digs. Hart, Gaines, Fisher and Diehl finished with three kills apiece.
