Softball: St. Elizabeth 14, Russellville 1

ST. ELIZABETH, Mo. - Behind Regan Wilde's one-hitter in the circle and three doubles at the plate, the St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets defeated the Russellville Lady Indians in five innings Tuesday 14-1.

St. Elizabeth knocked 14 hits. Russellville's lone hit was a home run by McKendra Fischer in the top of the fifth. Wilde struck out five for the Lady Hornets.

Mackenzie Struemph homered, doubled and singled, driving in six, and Amber Struemph was also 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored. Sara Struemph and Shanley Kliethermes singled and scored a run and Kliethermes drove in a run as well.

Sarah Heckemeyer doubled, drove in a run and scored one herself. Taylor Helton had a double.

Adrianna Bassnett was the losing pitcher. She allowed 15 hits and a walk, striking out three.

The Lady Indians (9-6) host School of the Osage on Thursday. Russellville (5-14) plays Thursday at Fatima.
