Lewis and Clark volleyball splits

The Lewis and Clark seventh-grade team earned a 25-19, 25-19 win, while the eighth-grade team suffered a 25-3, 25-12 loss Tuesday to Jefferson.

In the seventh-grade game, Jaiden Allabaugh had three aces and two kills, while Jordyn Mays added three aces and three assists. Abby Baughman chipped in with two kills and one block, while Liz Hill finished with two assists to lead Lewis and Clark.

The Lady Trailblazers (6-1) will play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

In the eighth-grade game, Mackenzie Sanning had three aces and Carlee Brehe chipped in with two blocks to lead the Lady Trailblazers.

Lewis and Clark (3-6-1) will play Oct. 8 at Oakland.

Thomas Jefferson falls

The Thomas Jefferson seventh- and eighth-grade teams both lost to Gentry on Tuesday.

In the seventh-grade game, Thomas Jefferson lost 25-22, 15-25, 25-21.

Madeline Showers had six aces, 14 assists, two kills and one dig, while Abigayle LaCore finished with six kills and four aces. Jennie Daehnick added two kills, six digs and two aces.

The seventh-grade team is now 6-1 on the season.

In the eighth-grade game, Thomas Jefferson suffered a 25-9, 25-8 loss.

Lily McCutchen had two digs and four aces.

The eighth-grade team is now 1-7-1 on the season.

Both teams return to action today at West Junior.
