The top-seeded Jefferson City Lady Jays claimed a 5-0 victory Tuesday against fourth-seeded Rolla in the semifinals of the Class 2 District 9 team tournament at Washington Park.

Winning in doubles for the Lady Jays were Paige Smith and Eden Hoogveld (8-0), Kelly Raithel and Kirsten Schmidt (8-1), and Athira Nambiar and Erica Dunn (8-2).

The victory was clinched following the victories in the singles matches by Hoogveld (6-0, 6-0) and Nambiar (6-0, 6-0).

Raithel, Smith and Schmidt were all leading their matches when the Lady Jays got to five wins.

Jefferson City (17-5) will play second-seeded Lebanon for the district championship at 4 p.m. today at Washington Park.
