The top-seeded Helias Lady Crusaders earned a 5-0 win Tuesday against fifth-seeded Mexico in a Class 1 District 8 semifinal match at Washington Park.
Helias' No. 1 doubles team of Ashley Dowden and Mary Conley won 8-0, while the No. 2 team of Abby Dowden and Lauren Highfill claimed an 8-0 win. Cassidy Roling and Megan Villanueva completed Helias' sweep in doubles with an 8-1 victory.
Ashley Dowden and Conley clinched the win for Helias after winning both their singles matches 6-0, 6-0.
The Lady Crusaders (15-3) will face No. 2 Kirksville, a 5-4 winner against No. 3 Palmyra in its semifinal Tuesday, at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Washington Park.
