Dad: Daughter lost an eye during Ferguson protest

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) - The father of a 24-year-old St. Louis woman says she lost an eye during a protest in Ferguson, Missouri, earlier this week when a police officer fired a beanbag at her boyfriend's car, shattering the windshield.

Donnell Conner told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1B1Q64R) that his daughter, Dornella Conner, lost her left eye and is having trouble focusing with the right. He says she's a few months pregnant and that the fetus is fine.

Police say her boyfriend, 21-year-old DeAngelas Lee, tried to drive into the officer in a gas station parking lot early Tuesday, during the most violent night of protests over the grand jury decision in the Michael Brown case.

Lee is charged with second-degree assault of a law enforcement officer and is jailed on $50,000 cash-only bail.
