ST. LOUIS (AP) - Aaron Graham rushed for 266 yards and four scores to lead Oak Grove to a 49-27 win over John Burroughs in the Class 3 state championship game.
Oak Grove (13-2) claimed its first state title Friday afternoon, while John Burroughs (13-2) has lost in the championship game in four of the last five seasons.
Oak Grove scored 22 points in a span of 4 minutes 11 seconds in the second quarter to go in front for good 29-21. A 72-yard scoring run by Graham highlighted the offensive outburst.
Graham carried the ball 39 times as the teams combined for a state record 50 points in the first half.
Running back John Moten led John Burroughs with 164 yards rushing.
