Royals acquire Ryan Jackson from Dodgers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Infielder Ryan Jackson has been acquired by the Kansas City Royals from the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash.

The 26-year-old was sidelined for most of last season because of a right wrist injury and went 3 for 16 (.188) for San Diego's Triple-A team at El Paso and 2 for 19 (.211) for the Padres' Arizona Rookie League team.

He was claimed by the Dodgers off waivers on Nov. 3, then designated for assignment Monday.

Jackson has an .083 major league average (2 for 24) in 20 games for St. Louis in 2012 and '13.

The trade was announced Wednesday.
