SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Jewell Loyd scored 20 points to lead No. 3 Notre Dame to an 88-53 win over Chattanooga on Friday.

Freshman Mychal Johnson added 17 points for the Irish (3-0), and Lindsay Allen had 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the field.

Notre Dame used a 19-2 run to open a 35-18 lead. It had a 46-21 lead at the break.

Chelsey Shumpert led Chattanooga (2-2) with 12 points. Jasmine Joyner, a 6-foot-2 forward, had a school-record eight blocks in 26 minutes.

NO. 4 TENNESSEE 81, WINTHROP 48

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Ariel Massengale made a career-high six 3-pointers and finished with 20 points for Tennessee.

Massengale entered with 16:34 left in the first half and went 5 of 5 from 3-point range over the next three minutes. Three of those 3-pointers came in a span of 70 seconds during a 17-0 run that gave the Lady Vols a 27-7 advantage.

Bashaara Graves had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Tennessee (3-0).

Schaquilla Nunn had 12 points and 15 rebounds for Winthrop (1-2).

NO. 18 IOWA 97, PEPPERDINE 68

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Melissa Dixon scored 20 points with six 3-pointers, and Ally Disterhoft added 14 points with 10 rebounds to lead Iowa in the Hawkeye Challenge.

Iowa (3-0) shot 53 percent - including nearly 58 percent from 3-point range - to steadily pull away from cold-shooting Pepperdine (39.4 percent). Disterhoft's double-double was her fourth at Iowa.

The Waves (1-2) hung with the Hawkeyes for much of the first half - tied twice and holding a one-point lead - until Iowa ended the with a 10-3 run into halftime.

NO. 24 GONZAGA 89, MONTANA STATE 60

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Shelby Cheslek matched her career-high with 16 points to lead Gonzaga.

The Bulldogs (3-0) led 51-18 at halftime and easily withstood a rally by Montana State (1-2) to start the second half.

Lindsay Sherbert added 15 points for Gonzaga, Keani Albanez 14 and Sunny Greinacher added 12 points with 11 rebounds.

The Bulldogs shot 55 percent for the game (33-60), including 9 of 19 3-pointers.
