Tennessee lineman out for Missouri game

Starting center

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee center Mack Crowder will miss the Volunteers' game Saturday with No. 19 Missouri due to a high ankle sprain and knee sprain

Coach Butch Jones said Wednesday on his radio show Crowder wouldn't play and sophomore Dylan Wiesman would start in his place. Jones had indicated Tuesday it was doubtful Crowder could play against Missouri.

Crowder's injury will force Tennessee to use its sixth different starting combination on the offensive line this season. Crowder had started each of Tennessee's first 10 games.

A victory Saturday would make Tennessee (5-5, 2-4 SEC) bowl eligible for the first time since 2010. Missouri (8-2, 5-1, College Football Playoff No. 20) can capture a second straight SEC Eastern Division title by winning its last two regular-season games.
