Man charged with stealing, scrapping trailers

A Cole County man has been charged with being involved in theft of two trailers from Stockman Quarries, cutting them up and selling them as scrap metal, and has been placed on five years supervised probation.

Daniel Holtmeyer, 26, 5605 Heritage Highway, pled guilty to receiving stolen property and first-degree property damage.

He must also pay $2,700 in restitution.

In January, Holtmeyer was spotted by a witness cutting off the lock on a fenced area at the quarry and leaving with a trailer in tow.
