STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - Amber Orrange made a go-ahead jumper with 1:38 left in overtime and the tying 3-pointer with 1.4 seconds remaining in regulation, sending No. 6 Stanford to an 88-86 victory against top-ranked Connecticut to snap the Huskies' 47-game winning streak Monday night.
The Cardinal ended another long Huskies' run nearly four years after snapping the program's NCAA record 90-game unbeaten run. UConn went 40-0 last season on the way to its second straight championship. UConn lost for the first time since falling to Notre Dame in the 2013 conference tournament.
Lili Thompson scored 24 points and Orrange 17 for Stanford (2-0).
Breanna Stewart scored 23 points and converted two free throws with 37.4 seconds left in regulation and Saniya Chong had 20 for the Huskies (1-1).
No. 13 KENTUCKY 74, No. 8 BAYLOR 64
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Jennifer O'Neill scored 18 of her 22 points in the second half and Kentucky rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat Baylor.
O'Neill missed seven of her eight shots in the first half before heating up after the break. She helped Kentucky overcome a 40-26 deficit with a 21-7 run that tied the game at 47 before scoring five consecutive points in the final minutes to put the Wildcats ahead for good at 68-64 with 1:17 remaining.
Makayla Epps added 12 points including four free throws in the final minute as Kentucky scored the game's last 11 points over 2:28. Linnae Harper added 11 for the Wildcats, who shot just 36 percent but held Baylor (1-1) to 32 percent shooting and outrebounded the Lady Bears 24-18 in the final 20 minutes.
No. 4 TENNESSEE 91, ORAL ROBERTS 39
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee junior Nia Moore continued her strong start to the season, leading the No. 4 Lady Volunteers to a win over Oral Roberts with 20 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.
Ariel Massengale scored 21 points for Tennessee.
The Lady Vols (2-0) played without senior center Isabelle Harrison and senior forward Cierra Burdick. Harrison, an all-SEC first-team performer last season, injured her right leg late in Friday's win over Penn. Burdick served the final half of a two-game suspension for missing curfew.
Their absences didn't matter much Monday.
Oral Roberts shot just 25 percent overall and was 1 of 16 from 3-point range. Tennessee also forced 30 Oral Roberts turnovers.
Moore has averaged 22 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks through the first two games of the season.
Oral Roberts center Vicky McIntyre had 10 points and 13 rebounds.
No. 17 WEST VIRGINIA 89, SETON HALL 87
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Bria Holmes scored 36 points and West Virginia held off Seton Hall.
Daisha Simmons and Tabatha Richardson-Smith both hit 3-pointers in the final minute and Ka-Deidre Simmons added two free throws with 13 seconds left to get the Pirates within 88-87. Teana Muldrow hit the first of two free throws to make it a two-point game, but Ka-Deidre Simmons missed a layup at the buzzer that would have tied it.
Averee Fields tied the game for West Virginia (2-0) with a free throw with 7:28 let, and sparked an 11-2 run to give the Mountaineers the lead, but Seton Hall battled back. Richardson-Smith drilled a 3 to make it 82-79 with under 2:00 left.
West Virginia made 9 of 12 free throws in the final 5 minutes.
Richardson-Smith finished with 32 points to lead Seton Hall (1-1).
