Local man gets probation for drug distribution

A Jefferson City man was placed on five years supervised probation after pleading guilty to five counts of distribution of a controlled substance.

Matthew W. Brownfield, 22, was charged after being arrested during a drug bust in May.

The charges dated back to February and March 2012.

Brownfield and others were arrested for distribution of controlled substances, including heroin, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, ecstasy and marijuana, along with other narcotics-related crimes.

The arrests are the result of a lengthy undercover investigation conducted by the Missouri Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Mustang Drug Task Force.
