Your Opinion: Climate alarmists ignore data, seek power

Dear Editor:

Religious people could learn a valuable lesson from climate alarmists on unwavering faith. Despite scientific and economic evidence to the contrary their faith is unwavering. As other countries are now changing their policies, alarmists in the U.S. are still trying to push forward losing agendas. Australia has dropped the carbon tax, because it didn't work. By 2020 Germany will have built 12 new coal fired power plants, alternative energy didn't work.

Records have repeatedly shown over and over again that the weather is actually better, fewer and less powerful storms, fewer and less powerful hurricanes, fewer and shorter lasting droughts. Even forest fires are down and the oceans are barely rising.

Don't take my word for it; the data is available to the public through government organizations. Eighteen years and no global temperature increase, deep sea temperature readings have not increased so the heat isn't going into the deep oceans. This year we are having snow and cold out east, coming close to breaking records and we are heading for a major deep freeze here. Yet, we hear the cries of man made global warming. Their answer to this non-existent problem, carbon tax or whatever the new buzz word is today, dividend. In other words someone taking money from your pocket and giving it back to you saying, "Look, I'm giving you money and making you richer."

If climate change had been real the thing to do would have been for the government to subsidize the mass construction of the new fluoride-thorium reactors nationwide to help companies replace the coal-fired power plants in conjunction with the solar road project, which could have cut CO2 emissions to nearly zero in five years (about 10 years ago). There is a large supply of fluoride thorium in Missouri meaning a boon for Missouri's economy.

Second there is a solar road/parking lot system; this could be set up for all interstates and major roadways. At every business along these roads charging stations would be installed. Thus, allowing owners of electric cars and trucks to charge their vehicles off the power provided from the roads, while eating at a fast food restaurant or while shopping. The fee for the electricity would be divided between the business owner and MoDOT for road and lot maintenance.

These things aren't being done because it isn't about the climate it is about increased power, control and money.
