BizBeat: The Ovid Bell Press named a "Best Workplace'

The Ovid Bell Press, Inc., has been honored with a "Best Workplace" for 2014 designation by the Printing Industries of America (PIA).

The Ovid Bell Press, based in Fulton, Mo., is a mid-sized printer specializing in magazines and journals, and is owned by Walsworth, Inc., of Marceline, Mo.

Each year, the PIA's Best Workplace in the Americas program recognizes graphic arts and printing companies throughout the United States and Canada for their outstanding human relations efforts and for creating successful work environments.

"We are very proud and excited to be recognized for this award. I am so proud of our people, who have created, in conjunction with our management team, the opportunity for this recognition. You couldn't ask for a finer group of employees," said John Bell, president of The Ovid Bell Press, in a news release.

For 2014, 28 companies were selected to receive Best Workplace in the Americas awards. Entries were judged on management practices, work environment, training and development, recognition and rewards, workplace health and safety, health and wellness, financial security and work-life balance.
