3 injured in 4-car wreck

Three people were hurt in a four-vehicle accident Wednesday night in Jefferson City.

Police reports show the accident occurred at 5:12 p.m. in the 1700 block of U.S. 50 West.

A vehicle driven by Scott Surface, 43, Jefferson City, was going west in the left lane of 50. He saw traffic in front of him stopping and tried to stop, but began to skid. His vehicle crashed into the rear of a vehicle driven by Nora Stockman, 52, Jefferson City. Stockman was forced forward into a vehicle driven by Dale Davenport, 57, Jefferson City, and Davenport was pushed forward into a vehicle by Randall Meyer, 58, Jefferson City.

Stockman, Davenport and Meyer were treated for non-life threatening injuries. Surface had no reported injuries.

All drivers were wearing seat belts.

The westbound lanes of 50 were restricted to one lane for about an hour while emergency crews cleaned up the scene.
