Steinman announces mayoral run

Leonard Steinman is planning to run for Jefferson City mayor once again.

Voters will decide the next mayor in a spring 2015 election and two candidates already have stepped forward after current Mayor Eric Struemph announced he would not seek re-election. Last week, current 3rd Ward Councilman Bob Scrivner announced his intention to run for mayor.

Steinman ran for the same office in 2011 and lost to Struemph. Most recently, he ran for the 3rd U.S. Congressional District seat in the August Republican primary. He lost to incumbent Blaine Luetkemeyer.

Filing for city offices officially begins Dec. 16.
