Rep. Clay re-elected in Missouri's 1st District

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Democratic U.S. Rep. William Lacy Clay has won an eighth term representing St. Louis in the U.S. House.

Clay defeated Republican Daniel Elder and Libertarian Robb Cunningham on Tuesday in Missouri's 1st Congressional District.

He was first elected to the U.S. House 2000. Before that, he served for much of the 1990s in the Missouri Senate and for part of the 1980s in the Missouri House.
