LOS ANGELES (AP) - Reid Brignac's RBI single in the bottom of the 14th inning gave Philadelphia a 6-5 win over the New York Mets on Friday night.
Domonic Brown hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs for the Phillies, who snapped the Mets' six-game winning streak at Citizens Bank Park.
Marlon Byrd reached second base when right fielder Chris Young dropped his fly ball for an error leading off the 14th. Carlos Ruiz followed with a single to center off Jenrry Mejia (4-2). After pinch-hitter Cesar Hernandez was intentionally walked, Brignac drove an opposite-field shot that one-hopped the wall in left.
Justin De Fratus (1-0) pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win. Phillies starter A.J. Burnett had a season-high 11 strikeouts, but allowed five runs, five hits and six walks in seven innings.
Mets rookie Rafael Montero lasted just 3 2-3 innings, allowing four runs - three earned - and seven hits in the shortest of his four career starts.
Bobby Abreu hit a two-run double to give the Mets a 5-4 lead in the fifth. The Phillies answered in the bottom half when Brown's groundout tied it at 5.
PIRATES 2, DODGERS 1
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Francisco Liriano outpitched Josh Beckett for his first win of the season, and Ike Davis homered for Pittsburgh.
Liriano (1-5) scattered five hits over 5 2-3 scoreless innings. After entering with a 5.06 ERA, he struck out eight and walked two in his 12th start of the season.
Beckett (3-2) allowed two runs and five hits in five innings, five days after pitching the first no-hitter in the majors this season during a 6-0 win at Philadelphia. The 34-year-old right-hander was removed for a pinch-hitter after 88 pitches - he threw a career-high 128 in the first no-hitter by a Dodgers pitcher since 1996.
Pirates second baseman Neil Walker robbed Matt Kemp of an RBI single in the sixth with a diving stop toward the middle and threw him out, after Hanley Ramirez led off with a double.
Liriano, a 16-game winner for Pittsburgh last season, faced one more batter, striking out Scott Van Slyke with his 100th pitch. Justin Wilson then fanned Andre Ethier.
Jason Grilli pitched a perfect ninth for his sixth save.
BRAVES 3, MARLINS 2
MIAMI (AP) - Julio Teheran pitched 7 1-3 innings and scored the tying run in the seventh as Atlanta moved a game ahead of Miami atop the NL East.
The Braves trailed 2-0 in the sixth inning but rallied to break a four-game losing streak. They won for only the third time in their past 13 road games.
Teheran (5-3) allowed five hits and two runs, which raised his ERA to 1.83. Teheran, who came into the game 2 for 25 this season, had a single and a double. The right-hander improved to 4-0 in six career starts against the Marlins with an ERA of 2.50.
Three relievers combined to complete a five-hitter with Craig Kimbrel pitching a perfect ninth for his 14th save in 16 chances.
Giancarlo Stanton hit his NL-leading 16th home run in the first inning to put the Marlins up 2-0.
Tom Koehler (4-5) allowed three runs in seven innings. The Marlins lost for only the second time in their past 13 games against NL East teams.
BREWERS 11, CUBS 5
MILWAUKEE (AP) - Ryan Braun homered to highlight a five-run first inning for Milwaukee.
Braun had three hits and three RBIs for Milwaukee, which has won 25 of its last 31 games against Chicago. Rickie Weeks and Martin Maldonado had three hits and two RBIs each as the Brewers scored a season-high runs in its most lopsided victory of the year.
Marco Estrada (5-2) allowed three earned runs and six hits in six innings.
Travis Wood (5-5) turned in his shortest outing of the season when he lasted only 2 2-3 innings. He gave up 10 hits and seven earned runs for the Cubs (19-33), who have the worst record in the majors.
Chicago, shut out in its last two games at San Francisco, ended its scoreless streak at 22 innings.
GIANTS 9, CARDINALS 4
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Madison Bumgarner struck out 10 in seven scoreless innings and Hunter Pence hit a three-run homer off Adam Wainwright for surging San Francisco.
Bumgarner (7-3) allowed three hits and matched a season high for strikeouts set in his previous start against Minnesota. He walked one.
San Francisco has won eight of nine and owns the best record in the majors at 36-19.
Pence had two hits and scored twice. Pablo Sandoval extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a single and a double, but his run of nine straight games with an RBI was snapped.
Hector Sanchez and Gregor Blanco each had a two-run single for the Giants, who scored seven runs with two outs. San Francisco has scored 117 runs with two outs, tops in the big leagues.
Wainwright (8-3) entered with a 20-inning scoreless streak and a major league-leading 1.67 ERA. He was trying to become the first nine-game winner in the National League, but lasted just 4 1-3 innings and allowed seven earned runs and eight hits. His ERA jumped to 2.32.
REDS 6, DIAMONDBACKS 4
PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona's Devin Mesoraco hit a grand slam off former Cincinnati teammate Bronson Arroyo.
Mesoraco also had a solo shot off reliever Evan Marshall in the ninth inning for the second two-homer game of his career.
A.J. Pollock doubled twice, singled and scored two runs for the Diamondbacks. In the first five games of the homestand, Pollock is 11 for 20 with five doubles, a triple and a home run and has scored nine runs.
Mike Leake (3-4) gave up four runs, three earned, and six hits in six innings for his first win in eight starts. He struck out four and walked one.
Arroyo (4-4), facing his former team for the first time, allowed five runs and nine hits through seven innings.
Mesoraco's second career slam came on the first pitch after the Reds opened the second inning with three consecutive singles.
Aroldis Chapman pitched a perfect ninth for his sixth save.
INTERLEAGUE
NATIONALS 9, RANGERS 2
WASHINGTON (AP) - Ian Desmond keyed a 15-hit attack with a three-run homer and Stephen Strasburg pitched six solid innings for Washington.
Jayson Werth and Denard Span had three hits each for Washington, which had lost six of seven.
Previously slumping, Washington's offense has 14 runs and 30 hits in its last two games.
Strasburg (4-4) allowed two unearned runs, though his error led to them, and six hits. He struck out nine and walked one.
It was the eighth straight start in which Strasburg has pitched at least six innings and allowed three runs or less. He improved his ERA to a season-low 3.15.
Adrian Beltre had three hits for Texas, which fell to 6-3 on its 11-game road trip.
Rangers starter Colby Lewis (4-4) allowed six runs, five earned, and nine hits in taking his first road loss.
