Two homes in Galena benefited from "extreme makeovers" in May 2013 as a result of Fletcher's collaboration with the Stone County Drug and DWI Court Team, the Galena Vision of Hope and the Galena 4-H Club.

"She was committed to making a difference in the lives of the clients she supervises every day, and this event made a strong impact on bridging the gap between probation and parole and other community partners," Regional Administrator Dardi Smith wrote in her nomination.

Fletcher was selected as the Missouri Department of Corrections April 2014 Employee of the Month for her "attention to detail and her ability to accept a diversity of job assignments and perform them at a high level," Smith wrote.

The home improvement project was supported by a $6,000 federal grant and community donations.

Fletcher screened applicants and organized work dates for volunteers and court participants for community service hours.

"Giving back to the community is an integral component of the Stone County Adult Drug Court and DWI Court programs," Smith noted. "Fletcher dedicated her time and efforts to bring together community partners in making a difference in the lives of others."

The event was held outside of Fletcher's normal working hours, and organizing the project was in addition to her regular job duties.

"Fletcher takes great pride in her work, and the excitement she brings has brought inspiration to other officers in her district and reminded them that their jobs can make a difference in the lives of others," Smith said.

Missouri's State Employee of the Month is selected by the State Employee of the Month Selection Committee from among nominations submitted by the 16 state departments and some elected offices. The six committee members also are members of the State Training Advisory Council.
