The project to replace the South Moreau River bridge on Route D in Cole County will begin at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The one-lane, truss bridge will be replaced with a two-lane, concrete bridge.
Route D will be closed during the project, which is scheduled to be completed by Aug. 15.
The detour for motorists traveling north on Route D is U.S. 54 east to Missouri 179, north to Route C and west to Route D. Those traveling south should take Route C east to Missouri 179, south to U.S. 54 and west to Route D.
Don Schnieders Excavating Company of Jefferson City is the contractor on the $1.025 million project.
