Parkway teacher fired over inappropriate tweets

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis County middle school teacher has been fired after a student saw a nude photo on the teacher's Twitter page.

KMOV-TV (bit.ly/1lDLQMw ) reports that an unnamed Parkway South Middle School teacher lost her job in response to the student complaint. School district officials say the teacher posted a picture of a naked man holding his genitals as well as other inappropriate tweets. The district says the teacher acknowledged posting the material.

Parkway administrator Paul Tandy says the teacher violated a school district policy by interacting with students on social media.

The teacher worked at the middle for just one year. School parents were alerted to her firing by email.
