NEW BLOOMFIELD - Alec Shoop got the win on the mound and belted two home runs to help Linn post a 10-7 win against Russellville on Monday night.
Shoop ended up with four RBI in the semifinal game at the Class 2 District 8 Tournament.
Ben Klebba added one hit and three RBI for the winners. Eathan Hickey added two hits and one RBI for the Wildcats and Tony Mebruer had one hit and one RBI.
With the win against the fourth-seeded Indians, the top-seeded Wildcats (18-4) advance to take on second-seeded Tipton at 6 p.m. today in the championship game.
