TORONTO (AP) - Jermain Defoe and Luke Moore scored and Toronto FC snapped its three-game losing streak with a 2-0 win over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday.
Toronto (4-4-0) had lost four of five games after opening the MLS season with two consecutive wins.
New York (3-4-5) was coming off a 5-4 loss to the previously winless Chicago Fire, which snapped its four-game undefeated streak.
The Red Bulls looked sloppy, turning the ball over in the early going.
Defoe hammered a right-footed shot into the top of the net in the 12th minute for his fourth goal in five MLS games.
Moore, in his home debut, scored his first goal for Toronto with a tap-in in stoppage time after a defensive miscommunication.
The Red Bulls had not lost to Toronto since June 24, 2009, a 7-0-3 stretch in which they outscored TFC 25-5.
Toronto improved to 5-11-4 against the Red Bulls.
REAL SALT LAKE 2, RAPIDS 1
SANDY, Utah (AP) - Joao Plata scored his sixth goal of the season and Real Salt Lake remained undefeated with a victory in the opening match of the Rocky Mountain Cup rivalry.
RSL (6-0-5) hasn't dropped a game in its first 11 matches this season and is the only undefeated team in Major League Soccer.
Plata scored in the 23rd minute with a roller past goalkeeper Clint Irwin to the far post.
Javier Morales scored on a penalty kick in the 52nd minute to put RSL up 2-0. It was Morales' fourth goal.
The Rapids (4-4-3) avoided the shutout with defender Drew Moor's header into the corner in the 83rd minute.
SOUNDERS 1, EARTHQUAKES 0
SEATTLE (AP) - Snubbed from a World Cup camp invite by Nigeria, Obafemi Martins scored his finest goal since joining Major League Soccer in the eighth minute to give Seattle the victory.
Seattle (8-3-1) remained the points leader in all of MLS thanks to Martins' goal as both teams began a potential two-month stretch with some of the top players in the league off competing at the World Cup.
Martins' goal came from a shallow angle just 4 yards off the end line. Instead of settling Gonzalo Pineda's pass, Martins chipped the one-hopper with his left foot over San Jose goalkeeper Jon Busch and just inside the far post. It was the fifth goal of the season for Martins.
San Jose dropped to 2-4-4.
REVOLUTION 5, UNION 3
CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - A.J. Soares, Diego Fagundez, Lee Nguyen, Chris Tierney and Patrick Mullins scored, and New England topped Philadelphia for its fourth straight win.
The Revolution (6-3-2) are 5-0-1 in their last six. It was their first victory over the Union at PPL Park where they had been 0-4-2, including a 1-0 loss on March 15.
New England, which has scored 10 goals in its last two games, improved to 5-0-0 this season when scoring first. Soares made it 1-0 in the 13th minute off a free kick from Tierney. Fagundez scored in the 27th minute.
Philadelphia (2-6-5) got within 2-1 in the 36th minute on a goal by midfielder Vincent Nogueira, but the Revolution quickly responded after halftime as Nguyen scored his team-leading fifth goal.
Tierney scored off a free kick in the 57th minute, and Mullins added a goal in the 67th minute. Sheanon Williams registered the Union's second goal in the 76th minute.
TIMBERS 3, CREW 3, tie
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Gaston Fernandez scored on a header in the 85th minute to pull Portland into the draw with Columbus.
Portland's Will Johnson tied the match at 2-all in the 80th minute. Ethan Finlay's shot deflected off a Portland player for an own goal for Columbus a minute later.
The draw snapped a three-match losing streak for Columbus, but the Crew (3-4-4) remain winless in their last eight matches. Columbus hadn't scored a goal since April 26 in a 1-1 draw with the New York Red Bulls.
Federico Higuain had a pair of goals for the Crew and Maximiliano Urruti opened the scoring for Portland (1-3-7) in the fifth minute.
Portland defender Alvas Powell was sent off with a red card for a foul on Chad Barson in the 34th minute, putting the Timbers down a man for the rest of the match.
UNITED 1, IMPACT 1, tie
WASHINGTON (AP) - Eddie Johnson scored in the 84th minute to lift D.C. to a draw with Montreal.
Johnson, recently left off the United States 30-man preliminary World Cup roster, scored his first of the season when he heading home a cross from Fabian Espindola. It was Johnson's first goal since moving over from Seattle in the offseason.
D.C. (4-3-3) hasn't lost at home since the season opener against Columbus on March 8.
Montreal (1-5-4) took the lead in the 56th minute on Jack McInerney's second goal of the season. Montreal, last in the Eastern Conference, fell to 0-3-2 on the road. It has never won in five games at RFK Stadium.
DYNAMO 1, GALAXY 0
HOUSTON (AP) - Giles Barnes pounced on Jaime Penedo's miscue for a 61st-minute goal to give Houston a win over Los Angeles.
Penedo failed to control Dan Gargan's throw-in inside the 6-yard box. Rookie forward Mark Sherrod stole the ball and found Barnes for the goal.
The game might have World Cup implications for the Honduran national team as Boniek Garcia left the game with what the club said is a right leg injury in the 18th minute.
With the World Cup looming, three U.S. hopefuls - Houston's Brad Davis and L.A.'s Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzalez - missed the game.
CHIVAS USA 1, FC DALLAS 1, tie
FRISCO, Texas (AP) - Fabian Castillo scored in the 83rd minute and FC Dallas tied Chivas USA to end a four-game losing streak.
Dallas (5-5-2) was on the verge of a franchise-worst fifth straight loss before Castillo scored. Jair Benitez sent a second-effort cross to Castillo immediately after a corner and the midfielder poked the ball past goalkeeper Dan Kennedy. It was Castillo's second goals of the season against Chivas.
Marco Delgado scored his first career goal - a day after his 19th birthday - in the 60th minute for Chivas (2-5-4).
