Tigers drop series opener to Arkansas

COLUMBIA - After a back-and-forth contest through the first six innings, the Arkansas Razorbacks took advantage of seven runs in the last three frames and came away with a 9-4 win against the Missouri Tigers in the Southeastern Conference series opener Thursday night at Taylor Stadium.

Brett Graves received the loss after allowing five runs on nine hits, while striking out three and walking three in eight innings.

Arkansas tagged Ryan Phillips and Austin Tribby for two runs apiece in a combined two-thirds of an inning.

Kendall Keeton, Dillon Everett, Shane Segovia and Case Munson all drove in a run to lead the Tigers, who managed six hits. Ryan Howard was 2-for-4 to help lead the offensive attack.

Missouri falls to 20-31 overall and 6-22 in the SEC. The Razorbacks, who had 11 hits, improved to 33-21 overall and 14-14 in the SEC.

The teams will continue play at 6 p.m. today at Taylor Stadium.
