Owls heading home

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The trip to nationals is over for the William Woods baseball team.

The Owls suffered their second straight loss in the Lawrenceville Bracket and were eliminated following a 6-5 loss to Westmont, Calif., in 12 innings Tuesday.

Each team scored a run in the second and third innings before Westmont went up 4-2 with runs in the fourth and sixth.

William Woods got one back in the seventh and after Westmont got one in the top of the eighth, the Owls tied it at five with two in the bottom of that frame.

Then in the 12th, the Warriors won it when they got the run on one hit and one error.

Damon Adrian (Eugene High School) went 2-for-3 with three RBI for William Woods, while Dustin Kremer (Blair Oaks High School) was 2-for-5 with one RBI.

The Owls end the season with a record of 39-12.
