CARTHAGE - Gabe Trowbridge of Jefferson City qualified for the Class 4 state golf championships out of the sectional Monday.
Trowbridge finished in a tie for 13th with a 79 at the par-71 Carthage Golf Course. The top 12 individuals not on state-tournament team qualifiers advance to The Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau for the Class 4 state tournament, scheduled for May 19-20.
Two other Jays played in Monday's sectional. David Anderson tied for 33rd with an 85, while Andrew Hansen tied for 41st with an 89. Trowbridge, Anderson and Hansen were all-district performers last week.
The top two teams at sectional advance to the state tournament. Glendale took sectional honors at 308, one shot better than Rock Bridge.
