Your Opinion: Christian influence on nation diluted
Sunday, May 11, 2014
I’m responding to Sue Gibson’s letter published on April 30 chastising our politicians for their participation in the National Day of Prayer (NDP). It should be obvious to any astute person that the “separation of church and state” issue was created and imposed by liberals to circumvent the biblical morality on which all of our laws and culture were established. In doing so they have almost negated the Christian influence in our nation and opened the door for alternatives such as Islam and Sharia law.
I call your attention to the following news story: “Rocky Mountain High School, Fort Collins, CO on 4/21/14 “Cultural Arms Club” led the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic replacing the words “under Allah” for “under God”. ( http://gopthedailydose.com/2014/04/28/hs-students-say-pledge-in-arabic-one-nation-under-allah/ .)
One only has to look at the UK to see the future for the USA. There are two news stories in the UK that clearly describes what is in store for us if we don’t get back to Christianity as our foundation!
“Schools across Britain may have been targeted in an alleged Islamist takeover plot, a teaching union has warned. The National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) said that it found “concerted efforts” to infiltrate schools in Birmingham, and also warned that scandal had “connections” to other cities in the UK.” ( http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-London/2014/05/03/Concern-over-Trojan-Horse-Islamist-School-Takeover-Spreads-to-More-UK-Cities. )
“Almost 60 per cent of Britons call themselves Christians. That’s more than half the country, though some innumerate liberals disagree . Yet although a majority, Christians, as Dominic Grieve has told The Telegraph, are afraid to speak up? ” ( http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/cristinaodone/100268663/christians-are-scared-because-they-are-the-hated-majority/ .)
If Christians don’t stand and loudly oppose the atheists and Islamic vision of America and revitalize the moral Christian foundation we were blessed with by our founding fathers then we are lost as a world leader for freedom and liberty.
I applaud those public servants who remain committed to their Christian values and are not afraid to openly participate in the NDP. I would hope someday all our politicians and courts would have the courage to allow the return of the teaching of Christian values in our schools.
