Games played May 11, 2014

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) - Marvin Chavez scored two goals against his former team and Chivas USA ended an eight-game winless streak with a 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Sunday.

Erick Torres opened the scoring with his eighth goal of the season in the 56th minute for Chivas, which had gone 0-5-3 since beating the Chicago Fire in its season opener.

Torres' header beat goalkeeper Clint Irwin after Chivas didn't put a shot on goal in the first half. Chavez, who made two appearances for Colorado last season, broke free on a breakaway to beat Irwin in the 67th minute and again off a cross in the 76th minute.

GALAXY 1, TIMBERS 1

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Diego Valeri scored in the final minute of stoppage time, shortly after Robbie Keane's header two minutes into stoppage time appeared to give the Galaxy the win.

Los Angeles peppered Portland goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts with shots all game, but couldn't break through until Keane's fifth goal of the season.

Valeri's goal was his second of the year.

Galaxy midfielder Landon Donovan remained at 134 career MLS goals, tied with Jeff Cunningham for the league record.

Los Angeles was without center back Omar Gonzalez, who hurt his left knee in the first half of the loss at Colorado. He's being held out as a precaution so that he can take part in the U.S. national team's training for the World Cup.

Gonzalez and Donovan are expected to report Wednesday to the U.S. team's training camp at Stanford.

Donovan is scoreless in all seven league games he's played this season.

REAL SALT LAKE 5, DYNAMO 2

HOUSTON (AP) - Javier Morales scored three times to lead Real Salt Lake past a 10-man Houston to extend their unbeaten streak to 10 games to start the season.

Alvaro Saborio added a goal, and Luke Mulholland scored late in the second half for Salt Lake (5-0-5).

Mark Sherrod scored twice for Houston (4-5-2), which had its three-game unbeaten streak snapped.

Morales gave Salt Lake a 1-0 lead just 15 seconds into the match, settling a Saborio pass and firing inside the upper left post.

The goal was the quickest scored in Real Salt Lake history and fourth-fastest in MLS history. New York's Tim Cahill scored the fastest goal in MLS history 7 seconds in against Houston on Oct. 23, 2013.

REVOLUTION 5, SOUNDERS FC 0

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Diego Fagundez scored two first-half goals and New England routed Western Conference-leading Seattle.

New England (5-3-2) extended its unbeaten run to five matches (4-0-1), and snapped a four-match winless slide against Seattle.

The Sounders (7-3-1) had their six-match (5-0-1) unbeaten run ended and the MLS' No. 1 ranked offense was shut out for the first time this season.

Fagundez scored his first two goals of the season in the 29th and 41st minutes for the Revolution.

Rookie Patrick Mullins, making just his third appearance, scored his second goal in as many matches to put New England ahead in the 14th minute.
