Blair Oaks cruises to baseball victories

CENTRALIA, Mo. - Blair Oaks tallied 25 hits and scored 24 runs as the Falcons swept a pair of non-conference games on Saturday afternoon.

Blair Oaks rolled to a 12-1 victory in five innings against Kirksville, before cruising past Centralia 12-3 in the second game of the day.

Shintaro Hatashima allowed one run on two hits, while striking out two in the complete-game victory in the opener.

Dalton Fifer was 3-for-3 and drove in three runs to lead the Falcons at the plate. Hayden Haney and Seth Eskens were both 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Logan Gratz, Jacob Wilbers and Ryan Wilbers each had a hit and an RBI to help pace Blair Oaks on the offensive end.

Bryce Pritchett also recorded a complete-game victory in Game 2. The junior right-hander allowed three run (two earned) on seven hits, while walking two and striking out nine in seven innings.

Haney hit a three-run home run, while Eskens was 1-for-3 with two RBI to lead Blair Oaks in the nightcap. Brent Heckemeyer, Gratz and Pritchet all had two hits and drove in one run. Logan Bax was 2-for-4.

Blair Oaks (19-8) will host California at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
