Jays roll past Quincy

QUINCY, Ill. - Jefferson City tallied seven hits and capitalized on six errors as the Jays claimed a 13-7 win against Quincy on Wednesday.

Gabe Marcantonio was 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Alex Johnson was 1-for-4 with two RBI to lead Jefferson City at the plate. Jackson Walker and Rylie Klosterman both drove in runs to help pace the Jays, offensively.

Adam Grunden pitched four scoreless innings, allowing five hits and striking out two to receive the win.

Jefferson City (20-5), which has won nine straight games, will play at Park Hill at 9 a.m. Saturday.

In the JV game, Jefferson City was a 14-2 winner.

Grant Wood was 3-for-4 and drove in three runs, while Garrett Durbin was 2-for-3 with three RBI to help lead the Jays offensively. J.T. Bohlken was 2-for-2 with two RBI and Bryce Beckley was 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Jeremy Light received the win, allowing two runs on four hits in three innings.

Jefferson City (14-2) will host Smith-Cotton Monday.
