Douglas-Wiley to lead Lady Jays basketball

Kristie Douglas-Wiley will join the staff at Jefferson City High School as the new girls head basketball coach.

Douglas-Wiley previously served as the head coach at Moberly High School, where she was twice named the District 8 Coach of the Year. Douglas-Wiley, who most recently held a coaching position in Lawton, Okla., took Moberly to the Sweet 16 in 2010 and 2011.

Douglas-Wiley played Division I basketball at Oklahoma State University before suffering a career-ending knee injury. She is a graduate of Macon High School and has a bachelors degree in interdisciplinary studies and a minor in history from Columbia College.

Douglas-Wiley will replace Dan Ridgeway, who served as Jefferson City's interim head coach for the last half of the 2013-14 season after Shane Meyer left to take a football coaching position at Georgia Southern University.
