Thomas honored by MIAA

For the fourth time in as many years, Lincoln coach Victor Thomas has been selected as the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletcs Association Women's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the year, the league office announced Tuesday.

Last weekend Thomas led the Lincoln women to their eighth straight MIAA title and fourth consecutive outdoor championship.

Since rejoining the league in 2010, the Blue Tigers have dominated the MIAA, winning every conference indoor and outdoor championship meet in that span. This season, the Blue Tigers totaled 182 team points after winning eight events and posting 28 overall top-eight finishes.

Lincoln will try to win its seventh NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field championship since 2003 at this year's national meet, which will be hosted by Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. from May 22-24.
