COLUMBIA - The Jefferson City Jays took first while the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons were second and the Falcons third Saturday at the Spartan Invitational hosted by Battle High School.
The Jays finished with 166 points to top an eight-team field.
Austin Chiagrom and Mervyn John were double-winners for Jefferson City. Chiagrom was first in the 110-meter hurdles and the long jump, while John took the titles in the 300-meter hurdles and the triple jump.
Jefferson City is back in action Friday in a triangular with Helias and Hickman at Adkins Stadium.
Blair Oaks finished third behind Battle with 130 points. John Karsten won the shot put and the discus for the Falcons.
Versailles finished fifth with 62 points.
On the girls side, Blair Oaks had 157.5 points. Battle won the title with 161.
Blair Oaks won three events. Jessica Clark was first in the pole vault, while Veronica Siebold won the discus. The Falcons 4x800-meter relay team of Paige Rockers, Jolie Duffner, Taylor Scott and Alyson Jones won its event as well.
Versailles finished sixth with 57 points. Tessa Edgar was first in the 100-meter dash and the high jump.
Blair Oaks and Versailles will compete Tuesday in the Tri-County Conference Championships at Versailles.
