Blair Oaks takes two from Willard

Big day with the bats

BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Falcons swept a doubleheader Saturday from Willard, winning 14-7 and 11-4 at Southwest Baptist University.

In the opener, the Falcons scored in each of the first four innings to take an 8-3 lead. Blair Oaks then added one in the sixth and five in the seventh.

Cody Stegemann had four hits to pace a 17-hit attack for the Falcons, Logan Bax had three hits, including two triples. Hayden Haney, James Reinkemeyer, Ryan Wilbers and Brent Heckemeyer all had two hits. One of Wilbers' hits was a home run.

Reinkemeyer scored three times. Bax, Wilbers and Heckemeyer all scored twice. Bax drove in four runs, while Stegemann and Haney had two RBI.

Bryce Pritchett was the starter and winner, working 5 1/3 innings. He gave up six runs on eight hits and walk while striking out five. Stegemann pitched the final 1 2/3 innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk.

The Falcons were strong early in the second game as well, jumping out to a 9-1 lead after three innings.

Stegemann and Haney had three of Blair Oaks' 13 hits in the nightcap. Seth Eskens had two hits. Haney scored three times, with Stegemann and Eskens scoring twice. Stegemann, Haney, Dalton Fifer and Dylan Hoelscher all drove in two runs.

Collin Luebbering went the distance to get the win, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits and three walks. He struck out four.

Blair Oaks (16-7) is slated to play Monday at Boonville.
