EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The Jefferson City Jays won a pair of duals Friday in the Edwardsville Invitational.
Jefferson City opened with a 3-2 victory against Triad of Troy, Ill. David Claussen (6-4, 6-1) and Spencer Bone (6-0, 6-1) won in singles, while the team of Dane Biesemeyer and Josh Morris clinched the victory with a 2-6, 6-4 (10-8 tiebreaker) win in doubles.
Jefferson City then defeated Carbondale, Ill., 5-4. Singles winners included David Steinmeyer (6-0, 6-3), Bone (6-2, 6-3), Biesemeyer (2-6, 6-4, 10-8 TB) and Joey Mendez (6-1, 6-2). Joe Willoh and Kader Fees (6-3, 6-2) won in doubles.
Jefferson City (11-6) will play in the semifinals this morning.
