CAMDENTON, Mo. - The Jefferson City Jays romped to a 9-0 win against Camdenton in tennis action Thursday.
Singles winners for the Jays were David Clausen (8-0), David Steinmeyer (8-0), Spencer Bone (8-1), Dane Biesemeyer (8-3), Joey Mendez (8-1) and Josh Morris (8-2).
In doubles, Steinmeyer and Bone won 8-1, Clausen and Mendez rolled 8-0 and Biesemeyer and Morris cruised 8-2.
Also Thursday, the Jays' JV team beat the Father Tolton varsity 7-2.
The Jays won four of the six singles matches. Winners were Kader Fees (8-3), Vanya Mokeyev (9-7), Bonnie Nyakoojo (8-2) and Braden Millard (8-3). Joe Willoh lost 9-8 (7-5 tiebreaker) and Josh Jay lost 8-6.
The varsity team, which is now 9-6 will play today and Saturday in the Edwardsville (Ill.) Invitational.
