Fatima wins conference tourney

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - The Fatima Comets won the Show-Me Conference Tournament on Saturday with wins against Russellville and South Callaway.

Fatima topped Russellville 13-2 in the semifinals.

Logan Vogel was the winning pitcher, tossing 51/3 innings while allowing two earned runs on six hits with 11 strikeouts. He also went 2-for-5 with two RBI.

Will Robertson led the offense, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and a solo homer in the fourth inning. Sam Hager went 3-for-4, Reid Kesel went 2-for-3 with four RBI, John Fick went 2-for-3 and Alex Dickneite added two hits.

Russellville pitcher Clayton Meyer received the loss after allowing five runs (two earned) on two hits and three walks, while striking out three in 12/3 innings against Fatima.

Caleb Harrison had one hit and drove in two runs, while Tanner Morrow, Chase Smith and Nick Haslag each added hits for Russellville.

Fatima then beat South Callaway 10-2 for the title.

Dickneite picked up the win, tossing five innings while allowing an earned run on five hits with two strikeouts.

Hager went 4-for-4 with two RBI, Robertson went 2-for-3 with two RBI, and Matt Temmen and Kesel both went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Fatima (3-0) travels Tuesday to New Bloomfield.

Linn dropped a 13-4 decision to South Callaway in the semifinals.

Ryan Mantle picked up a hit and an RBI for the Wildcats.

Linn blasted three home runs to top Russellville 10-3 in the third-place game.

Mantle went 3-for-3 with four RBI and a three-run homer for Linn, while Alec Shoop and Daulton Niederhelm both added two hits, a home run and two RBI.

Blake Snyder picked up the win, allowing one run in six innings while striking out four. Jacob Voss pitched the seventh.

Smith received the loss after allowing four runs on four hits and one walk, while striking out one in two innings.

Ryland Johnson was 1-for-2 with an RBI, while Zach Voss, Smith and Haslag each had hits to help lead Russellville at the plate.

Linn (2-1) travels Tuesday to South Callaway, while Russellville (2-3) will play Monday at California.
