LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Columbia Cougars bounced back from two losses on Wednesday to sweep a doubleheader from Warner University on Friday afternoon.
Columbia claimed a 8-2 win in the opener before edging the Royals 5-1 in the nightcap.
Tiffany Urwiler (School of the Osage) allowed five hits and no earned runs in seven innings in Game 2. The right-hander also struck out two and walked two to receive the complete-game victory.
Kristin Eiken (Blair Oaks High School) tallied three hits and drove in a run to help lead the Cougars at the plate.
Columbia is now 13-10 on the year, while Warner dropped to 8-14.
The Cougars will resume American Midwest Conference action on Tuesday when they host No. 15 Park University. The first pitch of the doubleheader is set for 2 p.m. at Antimi Black Field in Columbia.
