Baseball: Calvary Lutheran 18, Herculaneum 3

JACKSON, Mo. — The Calvary Lutheran Lions keep on rolling.

Calvary blasted Herculaneum 18-3 to open the Saxony Lutheran Showdown on Friday.

The Lions smacked 17 hits in the win.

Wyatt Archer went 3-for-5 with six RBI, Caleb Propst went 4-for-5 with four RBI and Bradley MacLaughlin went 3-for-5 with three RBI.

Beau Monson reached base four times, scoring each instance. Hance Sommerer went 2-for-3 and scored four runs, Trevor Dusheke went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Cole Duenckel went 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored.

MacLaughlin got the win, tossing the first three innings while allowing three runs on three hits with six strikeouts. Sommerer then tossed two scoreless frames, striking out four.

Calvary Lutheran (4-0) plays Leopold at 10 a.m. today.
