Man gets probation after car chase

A Versailles man who led Jefferson City police on a chase in November 2013 that ended in the Holts Summit area has been placed on five years supervised probation.

Martin Fisher, 35, was charged with resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident and driving while intoxicated.

Police reports show a vehicle driven by Fisher crashed into a building at Joe Machens Ford on Southwest Boulevard.

An officer attempted to stop the vehicle, and a pursuit ensued.

Fisher, driving a green Ford minivan, failed to yield to emergency vehicles and traveled down Missouri Boulevard to Bolivar Street, where he then turned onto West McCarty Street.

Fisher then drove the wrong way onto the ramp to U.S. 54, traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes.

He continued on to Holts Summit where Holts Summit police assisted in the pursuit.

Fisher turned onto Route OO and crashed near Callaway County Road 391. He was taken into custody after a short foot chase.
